Applying alternating posture to prevent pressure ulcers is a recommendation of the European Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel (EPUAP) and is quietly becoming standard practice in most healthcare settings. Of all the risk factors for pressure ulcers, reduced mobility or its absence is the most crucial! Changing positions in lying and sitting at regular intervals is therefore of the utmost importance.
However, manually turning patients in bed is a time-consuming activity and requires the necessary physical effort on the part of the caregivers and the patient. Day and night, because giving changing position is a care that is best not interrupted. At night, however, it can be very annoying for the patient to be woken up each time manual turning.
Toto Cradle is an automated exchange positioning system that complies with European directives by automatically turning the patient onto the left or right side in a 30° lateral or supine position. The automatic inclination of the opposite side to 9° gives a secure feeling to the patient and also prevents slipping. Toto Cradle offers the ability to select the duration of left and right side lying and supine positions but can also disable a lying position. In case of a decubitus wound on either trochanter, for example, the left or right side lying position can be switched off.

Toto Cradle consists of a turning platform with an intuitive and easy-to-use pump unit and fits any hospital bed. The system can be used in combination with foam mattresses or alternating pressure mattresses. The platform is rollable and easy to transport, making it very easy and quick to deploy in institutions and in home care.
